Business Solutions Architect - FICO

This position is the first level in the Business Solutions Career Path supporting SAP FICO. Persons in this position work as part of a project team to support the development and integration of systems underlying internal business functions. Under the leadership and tactical guidance of a project leader, persons in this position collaborate with business units and use their understanding of business operations to help build solutions to meet business unit needs. Persons use knowledge across a spectrum of business applications to determine best solutions and have a working knowledge in one or more functional areas of the SAP ERP system, specifically SAP FICO (preference for this role is SAP's Apparel and Footwear solution experience or experience supporting a retail/wholes distribution business).
General Job Duties
Under guidance, work as a member of project team to apply knowledge of business operations to understand information needs of the business unit and determine best technology to meet the needs.
Provide input in the analysis, design, enhancement and implementation of business applications to support internal business functions.
Analyze business processes, identify causes of problems and make recommendations for process improvements.
Resolve less complex design problems.
Follow established testing procedures to ensure application is thoroughly tested during development and prior to release.
Monitor and report to management on project/program status, identify issues that may impede attainment of project goals, recommend and implement corrective measures.
Continuously expand knowledge in area of specialization.
Perform other duties as required.
Specific Job Areas
Project and/or support experience utilizing and configuring the SAP FICO module (at least 3 to 5 years) with a heavy focus in Fixed Assets, Internal Order Accounting, Cost/Profit Center Accounting, General Ledger, and Banking and Cash Management/Treasury
General knowledge of Product Costing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Profitability Analysis (COPA), Tax, IDOCs, and Workflow is highly desired
Familiarity with general OTC and P2P functionality with an emphasis on how they interface into FICO
Basic understanding of ABAP and debugging ABAP code
Utilize and build on basic knowledge in areas such as IDOCs, batch job processing, and AFS to troubleshoot and suggest improvements
Work with customers to gather requirements and develop functional specifications
Work with developers to clarify any requirements as needed
Perform unit testing and ensure satisfaction of the documented requirements
Act as tier 2 support resource for the FICO team assisting the tier 1 support team as needed
Education/Experience Requirements
Bachelors in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience.
MBA or equivalent experience preferred but not required.
2+ years of project and/or support/ analyst experience in SAP FICO.
4+ years of experience in business systems and applications development and implementation (Product development, Consulting or Support).
Working knowledge of the most commonly used business applications.
Understanding of the project management process.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to work effectively as part of a project team and foster team cooperation.
Stays current with rapidly changing technology and applies it to business needs.
Must be able to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.

May interact with senior management in business units supported.
Interacts with other colleagues at all levels in the conduct of day-to-day activities.
External Relationships
Primary contacts are internal to the organization.
Actively participates in industry forums and user groups.
Minimal contact with external customers.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
